2 days and counting....diplomas are being prepared, seniors have arrived for their photo, and the buses are waiting to take this wonderful class throughout the district to be celebrated. Today is the Civics Symposium from 8:30am-10:30am. Juniors in the US II classes have spent a large portion of their year researching a topic of concern in their communities, state, or world and then creating an action plan to address that issue. The Civics Symposium gives students the opportunity to showcase their work and results to the community. Stop by Nipmuc this morning and see some of these great projects and ideas for action and change. #nipmucpride
Today is the last day of school for the Class of 2024 and we wanted to thank our dedicated seniors Isabella Deligiannides and Sabrina Cassano who have been delivering the morning messages as the "Voices of Nipmuc." They have been wonderful leaders and we wish them the very best as they begin their new chapters. #nipmucpride
Today is an exciting day. Seniors are in the auditorium this morning learning what to expect next week for their last week of school at Nipmuc. It was a day to remember for our district Best Buddies Chapters who participated in the Best Buddies Friendship Walk this past Saturday at Polar Park. The Best Buddies Friendship Walk is the leading event in the country supporting inclusion for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Nipmuc and Miscoe partnered to create one Mendon-Upton team raising $3,200 for this amazing fundraising event. They even ended up on the news. Watch the link below and you will see some familiar faces at the beginning and right around 1:12. Congratulations to all of the staff, students and families that participated. #nipmucpride #MURSD

It is National College Decision Day and we wanted to thank all of the senior parents that volunteered today and those that are behind the scenes planning some other upcoming senior surprises this month as we countdown to graduation. Today seniors enjoyed a donut for "Decision Day" as they begin to enter the next chapter of their journey. We will enjoy celebrating the Class of 2024 all month as we lead up to June 1. #nipmucpride

And they are off.....next stop Italy! Buon viaggio. #nipmucpride #MURSD
Mr. Gorman and some of the Engineering 2 students were busy capturing data during the rare solar eclipse. Students monitored air temperature, ambient light (lux), uv index, air pressure, and humidity during the eclipse yesterday. Jorvan Uppal is pictured monitoring on of the devices used to capture this data to study. They even had some help from the NASA Astronaut Monkey they received from a previous school trip to collect data. What a great experience for our students to witness and learn from. #nipmucpride #MURSD
This week the School Counseling Department will hold our annual Spring Wellness Week focused on mental health and wellness. Today, thanks to funding from Nipmuc’s Active Minds chapter, students listened to a speaker from Minding Your Mind, a nonprofit mental health education foundation whose primary objective is to provide mental health education to adolescents. Thank you to our school counselors for putting together a great week ahead. #nipmucpride
Thank you to our amazing community for your generosity in the donations of dresses for the new Becca's Closet chapter here at Nipmuc. The first drop off was a great success last month with the students collecting over 65 dresses. Today is the April drop off and you can stop by the main entrance and drop off your donation before 2pm today. Thank you! #nipmucpride
Tonight the English Department will host the third annual English Language Arts Night from 6-8 PM. This year, we have over 40 events taking place, including student presentations, dramatic readings, live podcast productions, Socratic discussions, interactive panel talks, conversations about literature, spoken word poetry, and more.
This event serves a threefold purpose: to serve as an induction ceremony for our school’s National English Honor Society chapter, to showcase the products of our students’ ongoing efforts in the study of English language arts, and to empower our students by providing for them a platform to share their insights, perspectives, and voices. English Language Arts Night is open to our students, their families, and MURSD faculty and staff. Join us this evening. #nipmucpride
Congratulations to the National Honor Society Inductees that were part the 64th Annual Induction Ceremony for the Nipmuc chapter last week. #nipmucpride #MURSD
Just a reminder that today is an early release day with students being dismissed at 10:45am. Enjoy your weekend!
A new tradition was started at Nipmuc by the Class of 2024 with a "promposal" contest. Congratulations to this year's winner Chris Casey! He rallied some of his friends to make the perfect promposal singing to his date Leah Kirby who looked very surprised. She answered yes and we hope they have a wonderful time at prom. Thank you to all of the students that sent in their promposals this year. What a fun new tradition at Nipmuc! #nipmucpride
