On Wednesday last week, Mrs. White's AP Biology students visited Clark University's biotech lab, hosted by Dr. Don Spratt, where they successfully purified fluorescent proteins from jellyfish using affinity chromatography. The trip provided hands-on experience with advanced scientific equipment used in both academic and industry settings. In addition to lab work, students toured the university, made ice cream with liquid nitrogen, and discussed essential skills for success in college and future careers.
Spectrum 1 News chose to capture this great experience and you can check out the story below. The story emphasizes how this partnership provides our students with access to equipment and experiences not available at our school. It also mentions how the program aims to improve scientific literacy and introduce students to potential career paths in science. Congratulations to Ms. White, the Science Department, to all of the students working hard in AP Biology featured in this story. Thank you to Dr. Spratt and Clark University for this wonderful opportunity for our students. Check out the story on Spectrum.
