Welcome to the Mendon-Upton Regional School District

We are thrilled that you are interested in joining our incredible school district. In Mendon-Upton our mission is to empower all learners to thrive and that mission begins with the moment our students begin the registration and enrollment process. This page will provide you with all of the information and documentation you will need to enroll in our district.

Who is eligible to register in the Mendon-Upton Regional School District?

Enrollment in our district is contingent on residency in the towns of either Mendon or Upton. Before a student is registered to the Mendon-Upton Regional School District and can start school, their parent or legal guardian must provide proof of primary residence to our Registrar.  Temporary residence in the Towns of Mendon or Upton for the sole purpose of attending the Mendon-Upton Regional School District will not be considered residency.

Steps to register a new student

A: Evidence of Address of Residence

B: Evidence of Actual Residency at that Address

C: Evidence of Identification

REQUIRED

Parent/Guardian Residency Statement Affidavit.
AND the supporting documents outlined in Options 1, or 2 or 3:

  1. Record of most recent mortgage payment and/or property tax bill

OR

Option 1 - Two of any of these types of bills dated within the last 30 days showing a Mendon or Upton address and Parent/Guardian name:
- gas/oil bill
- electric bill
- home (not cell) telephone bill
- cable/satellite bill
- internet bill
- water bill
- home/renter's insurance bill

OR

  1. Valid MA Driver's License or valid MA Photo ID Card

OR

  1. Fully signed and executed Lease and/or Rental Agreement (Must specify the lease/rental term and be executed by both parties)

OR

Option 2 - One of these types of bills dated within the last 30 days showing a Mendon or Upton address and Parent/Guardian name:
- gas/oil bill
- electric bill
- home (not cell) telephone bill
- cable/satellite bill
- internet bill
- water bill
- home/renter's insurance bill

AND One other bill dated within the last 45 days showing a Mendon or Upton address and Parent/Guardian name, not including healthcare or vehicle bills.

AND Notarized Parent/Guardian Residency Statement Affidavit

OR

  1. Valid Passport

OR

  1. Notarized MURSD Property Owner Residency Statement Affidavit

Option 3 - Two of any bills dated within the last 45 days showing a Mendon or Upton address and Parent/Guardian name, not including healthcare or vehicle bills.

AND Notarized Parent/Guardian Residency Statement Affidavit

  1. Valid Military Photo ID or other valid government issued Photo ID

Thank you for taking the time to read all the important information to register your child(ren) in our schools. 

If your student has not attended MURSD in the last 3 months, you will be required to complete pages 1-7 of the New Student Registration packet including students who attend school outside of MURSD and whose Special Education plan is managed by MURSD.

Please note: the proof of residency requirements outlined above may not apply to students placed in foster care and do not apply to students experiencing homelessness (see McKinney-Vento act). If a student's parent/guardian does not possess any of the forms of ID listed in Column C above, please inform the Registrar to arrange alternative means of verification of identity.
